Happy Tuesday all! Sorry this entry is so late. I have found it is getting increasingly more difficult to find time to write about the rest of the world while I am working and going to school. All that aside, it was great to see the turn out on Friday for The Fong Jones Band's show at The Blue Mule. They got started a little later than planned, but it placed them in prime time. They played as the last of the early crowd was leaving and the first of the late crowd was coming. It was...

Congratulations to Strange Condition for placing FIRST in the online battle of the bands! For those of you who did not get an email from Strange Condition on Tuesday, Ryan has chosen to leave the band. The details of his departure are unclear and not being discussed at this time. The email states that Ryan is pursuing musical opportunities better fit to his interests. Ryan’s final show with Strange Condition was a wonderful send-off. It was a good last minute crowd! Thanks to all of the local bands who showed up – Carolyn’s Mother, Tequila Mockingbird, Rubber Planet… I am sure there were more, but I have not met or seen every band in town yet. I am looking forward to expanding my horizons. Nonetheless, the show was a lot of fun. Speaking of expanding my horizons, Friday was the first time I have heard RELEASE play. WOW! Excellent cover of Roc...

OKAY... I know this is comin' at ya late, but better than never.... The Zen Barons played The Toad Tavern on Friday and I KNOW that most of you didn't go to the show....for whatever reason. Despite the crappy rainy night, it was warm and rockin' inside The Toad. I always have a great time watchin these guys. And I can't help but move...dance....shake my groove thang.... I am so excited about their new CD..... Release party will be in JUNE (?!?!?) at Herman's (!!!!) and OFF THE HOO...

For starters, the turn out was awesome for the "Rockers for Kids" benefit concert at the Gothic. Plastic Parachute rocked. They're a great band, a little on the punk side. Great to see them appear for the cause. Wendy Woo came, played, left. So much for being a part of the benefit. Nina Storey didn't bother to show because Star Search is more important than Kids who need care.....???? I will apologize now for not remembering the names of the female-fronted blues band. I'm a sucker for th...

So this is HUGE. The Denver music scene is swiftly becoming popular, thanks mostly to the wonderful musicians that live in the beautiful state of Colorado. Here's a run-down of my personal favorite groups: Strange Condition - Rapidly becoming one of the most popular local bands. These guys will go places, and I'm behind them all the way. Their next show is January 2 at the Gothic. Big steps for these guys. They put on a hell of a show. It's very difficult to describe, and definately a mu...
